Hemp is gaining popularity as a superfood in the human nutrition space, and it is just as beneficial to our wild birds! Hemp seeds are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, essential fatty acids and amino acids. They are a great source of B vitamins, iron, manganese, magnesium and zinc.
Hemp is a rich source of quality protein and has the highest level of fatty acids than any other seed. The amino acids and oils are in perfect ratios to support optimal health and wellbeing, as well as all the other benefits contained in the small unassuming seed, making it an ideal addition to seed mixes.
Hemp seeds are best fed sparingly as part of a seed mix. We include hemp in most of our seed mixes.
Hemp seeds are also popular in the fishing community for use as fishing bait!
